It feels like it was only yesterday when we began this beautiful love story but a year has gone by already with many cherished memories. On a beautiful morning, November 23, exactly a year before we tied our knots together. We vowed each other to offer love, faithfulness and to hold together for better or worse. You promised to spend your whole life with me; I promised forever.
Our marriage is partly a unification of two states, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra. Wonder if it was meant to be – We were worried in our initial days, if and how to convince our parents yet it beautifully turned out into a delightful two states relationship. I completely adore both the families and their supports. I feel blessed to be part of the two gracious families and experience a glorious journey of marriage. I absolutely love all aspects of our life – interesting, challenging yet thoroughly joyful.
We got married in a grandeur century old temple and it felt like God gave the marriage as a gift. It was one of the most beautiful thing to have married there.
One year had passed, and I must say, I love being your wife. In fact, I’m proud to be your wife. You continue to amaze me with your ability to selflessly love me. For desiring my happiness above your own. You are always thinking of me. Thank you for remaining endlessly patient with me; that might be your best quality . I have the habit of looking at you and wonder how you are mine. Thank you for investing in our marriage every single day.
Before marriage, I may had worries if I would adjust with all the Tamil cultural rituals, but I am so lucky to have this beautiful family with me. The memories are still warm – Actual wedding, various temple visits in south India, all new food delicacies including Dosa, Idli, Pongal, Rassam and Coconut water :D, the family conversations (even though we could not speak each others languages thoroughly yet how lovingly everyone supported each other to understand – who would get such wonderful families despite of all differences). I can positively say that it was God’s plan to marry you and I am totally thankful for that.
Senthil, thank you for loving me and serving me every day. You are an amazing husband and I couldn’t thank you enough for asking me to be your wife. I love being married to you. I love waking up next to you and spending days to love you. I love being goofy with you and I love our serious talks. I love hugging you 1,000 times a day and annoying you. I love that you are my best friend. Being married to you is the biggest joy I have ever experienced and I truly feel like the luckiest woman alive.
Cheers to us, for picking each other, cheers to trying hard, learning lots, laughing hard, getting old together, trying our two states foods together, eating weekends outsides 😛 and yeah Cheers for the first year and many more to come.
